Audi RS6 pitted against the Ducati 1199 Panigale R

British magazine Auto Express decided to conduct an interesting duel between the Audi RS6 Avant and the Ducati 1199 Panigale R. Most of you know that both Audi and Ducati belong within the Volkswagen Group so this video depicts a battle between two relatives but the two are entirely different beasts as one is a hot wagon while the other is a properly fast bike.

The car of choice was the Audi RS6 Avant which was unveiled towards the end of 2012 with a V8 4.0-liter twin-turbo engine unleashing 560 PS (412 kW) and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) of torque. Power is transferred to a quattro all-wheel drive system through an 8-speed tiptronic gearbox allowing the vehicle hit 62 mph (100 km/h) from a standstill in only 3.9 seconds before topping out at 155 mph (250 km/h). If configured with the optional Dynamic Package, top speed is raised to 174 mph (280 km/h) while the Dynamic Plus Package lifts the electronic limiter to 190 mph (305 km/h).

On the other hand, the Ducati 1199 Panigale R is equipped with a V-Twin 1.2-liter engine capable of generating 195 PS. Although the Audi RS6 Avant has almost three times more power, let’s not forget the fact that it weighs almost ten times more since it tips the scales at around 1,900 kg so it’s interesting to see the two dueling in a drag race and then on the track.
