As you may already know, the Audi RS6 Avant is coming to the US market for the first time in history. We previously had one RS6 model in the ‘States, the C5-generation, but it was only offered here as a sedan. Now, though, this latest generation is coming ‘Stateside and US enthusiasts are about to get their first real life taste of an American RS6 Avant in Malibu this coming Sunday.
In just a couple of days, November 10, the Audi RS6 Avant will debut at a Cars & Coffee event at the Malibu Bluffs Park along the iconic Pacific Coast Highway.
“Audi has a strong heritage in exciting wagon-fans around the world that have, over many years, been drawn to their design, performance and no-compromise character,” said Filip Brabec, vice president Product Management, Audi of America. “The passionate response of U.S. customers eagerly awaiting this car was the number one reason we chose to debut the RS6 Avant to our fans and enthusiasts first.”
This will be the first time that not only this Audi RS6 Avant will be seen on American soil but any RS6 Avant. That makes this Cars & Coffee a must-see event for any enthusiast in California that can make it.
As we now know, the new Audi RS6 Avant has a 4.0 liter twin-turbocharged V8 that makes 592 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque and can get from 0-60 mph in a claimed 3.6 seconds. So it’s very fast and very capable, all while having four doors, a big back seat and a wagon-style trunk. When it comes to daily performance machines, the new RS6 Avant will be tough to beat.
This new Audi RS6 will go on sale sometime in 2020, though neither an official date or pricing has been revealed. Still, if you’re in the area this weekend, check out the Cars & Coffee event to be among the first Americans to see the new Rs6 Avant.
