Audi RS6 Avant rendered as a Sport Ute and looks like fun

For any of you who aren’t aware of Sport Utes, let me give you a very brief introduction. A Sport Ute is essentially a small, performance pickup truck that’s built from a typical sedan or wagon chassis and has a bit of ruggedness to it. They’re extremely popular in Australia but that’s really about it. However, seeing this new render from X-Tomi of an Audi RS6 Avant Ute actually makes us kind of want one.

Let’s be clear, this will never be made into a production car, so don’t go imagining that Audi might actually build this. Having said that, it’s fun to dream and this Audi RS6 Sport Ute would actually be a blast if it were to exist.

While ugly, it would be an awesome little car. The new Audi RS6 is already a monster of a machine, thanks to its 4.0 liter twin-turbocharged V8 making 591 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. In its standard Avant guise, it’s a practical family wagon. But in Sport Ute spec, it would be a semi-rugged pickup truck that could actually be useful at a workplace. It would also almost certainly be the world’s fastest pickup the moment it went into production, which would be hilarious.

So it’s a bit sad that Audi will never make such a thing. Of course, it makes no sense whatsoever to actually built an Audi RS6 Sport Ute, as it would be incredibly expensive and few, if any, people would buy it. Even in Australia. Still, it’s funny to imagine hauling a bunch of work gear at triple-digit speeds with no problem. Or torching genuine sports cars with a bail of hay in the back of the bed. Though, the same can sort of be done with the Audi RS6 Avant. While it might not be able to carry as much as a pickup, it’s still plenty practical and can burn sports cars off the line even when loaded up with family gear.

I've been in love with cars since I was a kid, specifically German cars. Now I get to drive them talk about them on the internet.
