The attached image is a screenshot of a webpage that was uploaded on a United Kingdom dealership’s website showing what it seems to be an Audi RS6 Avant Plus. However, it might turn out to be a hoax taking into consideration the page has been removed shortly after being published. Moreover, the Internet Archive Wayback Machine shows the website page dates back to March 8 last year. This is interesting taking into account the first rumors concerning a potential Plus version of the Audi RS6 Avant surfaced the web in January 2013.
Based on the information provided on the page, the model would feature a twin-turbo V8 4.0-liter engine uprated to develop 600 PS (441 kW) which would make it a considerable 40 PS (29 kW) more powerful than the standard RS6 Avant variant. On the same page it says this will be offered as a “full-production model” rather than being just another “limited edition.”
Aside from the added power, the Audi RS6 Avant Plus would come with “sharp RS-specific design” together with a few weight saving measures in order to provide the vehicle with “greater agility through corners.”
Although Audi has not confirmed the existence of a Plus derivative for the RS6 Avant, it doesn’t necessarily mean there won’t be one in the near future. In the past there actually was an RS 6 Plus launched in 2004 but its production was capped at just 999 units.
