Audi RS6 Avant online configurator goes live in UK

If you’re like me, you’re already building your own Audi RS6 Avant in your head, even though you can’t remotely afford to buy one. Who cares about affording it, it’s fun to dream, right? Thankfully, we don’t have to do too much imagining, as the RS6’s online configurator has just gone live on Audi’s UK site.

Some of these trim levels and options might not be the same in all markets, so just remember that if you’re not in the UK. Still, it’s fun to play around with the configurator and spec your perfect Audi RS6 Avant.

For starters, I’d actually choose the standard trim option. The Carbon Black and Vorsprung options are cool but too blacked out for my tastes and I don’t much like their 22-inch wheels. I prefer the 21-inch wheels on the standard trim RS6. As for the engine, there’s obviously only one option for the Audi RS6 Avant– the 4.0 liter twin-turbocharged V8 with 591 hp (600 PS) and 590 lb-ft of torque.

When it comes to exterior colors, I’m a bit stumped. I really like Navarro Blue and Tango Red. I guess it comes down to my mood. I wish the Audi RS6 Avant had some of the color options of other Audis, if I’m honest. The bright green of the RS Q8 would have been interesting. Though, I must say that I’m a bit disappointed with the interior color options. There’s really only two. Black (with either grey or black stitching) and Cognac brown. So I’m sticking with black with black stitching.

As far as options and packages go, I’m only concerned with two; the sports exhaust and the RS-specific dynamic ride control, which uses cross-linked hydraulic dampers. The latter helps keep the Audi RS6 Avant supple while also maintaining grip and composure. It also keeps the body nice and flat through corners, reducing roll. It’s a fantastic setup that’s well worth the money.

Sure, the Audi RS6 Avant costs more than $100,000, especially when equipped as such, but it’s one of the rare performance cars worth the money. There’s so much it can do and it has such breadth of ability that it’s money well spent. The RS6 Avant is both a family car and a performance car. It’s capable of stuffing a dog in the trunk or tons of luggage and then lapping the Nurburgring. It has incredible duality and I’d buy one in a heartbeat if I had the means.
