With the launch of the C8-generation Audi RS6 Avant, people are gradually turning their attention to the latest and hottest wagon while the previous-gen model is riding off into the sunset. We’d argue the old model is still a hugely desirable car, hence why we’re not missing out on any opportunities to check out some interesting C7 builds.
One such car was caught on camera the other day in The Netherlands by YouTuber ExoticCarspotters during the CCRally Summer Drive. That’s where the owner of an RS6 Avant wrapped in satin green brought his high-powered “family car.” Aside from featuring an eye-grabbing finish, the speedy wagon also had a bunch of carbon fiber aero parts from ABT. However, what caught the attention the most was its seriously loud Milltek exhaust system that made the V8 sound menacing even at idle.
The aftermarket exhaust and an ECU remap of the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 unlocked a massive 720 horsepower and 900 Newton-meters (664 pound-feet) of torque. We can only imagine performance must be brutal given the car’s impressively high output, and that exhaust with its pops and cracks further contributes to car’s huge appeal.
The RS6 Avant sat extremely close to the road for a more menacing stance and it was joined at the aforementioned CCRally Summer Drive by other beefy wagons from the same C7 era. As more and more people are getting behind the wheel of the new-generation model, expect the C8 to become a popular appearance at these car meets and show Audi Sport has stepped up its wagon game.
As pleasing as the exhaust sounds to us, it’s understandable why people who are not necessarily into cars might not be big fans. It’s quite loud basically throughout the whole rpm range and has a powerful grunt while the V8 is at idle, so neighbors might not enjoy waking up to this beefy soundtrack on a Sunday morning. With the car being shot at a car meet, it’s safe to say attendees gave this RS6 Avant C7 their stamp of approval.
