Introduced in March 2013 at the Geneva Motor Show, the Audi RS6 Avant still manages to impress with its hot wagon credentials. It has been showcased today at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed where it came with the attractive Misano Red exterior paint scheme and a set of 20-inch alloy wheels.
Available exclusively in the Avant guise, the RS6 makes use of a V8 4.0-liter twin-turbo engine which pumps out 560 PS (412 kW) and generates a maximum torque of 700 Nm (516 lb-ft). All that power is channeled to the quattro all-wheel drive system through an eight-speed automatic transmission which enables the model to reach 62 mph (100 km/h) from a standstill in just 3.9 seconds.
As standard, top speed is electronically limited at 155 mph (250 km/h) but for more money the client can order an optional Dynamic package raising the limiter to 174 mph (280 km/h). If that’s still not enough, the Dynamic plus package lifts the limiter to 190 mph (305 km/h).
Earlier this week we talked about a potential RS6 Avant Plus version which provides a 600 PS (441 kW) output. However, this model has not been confirmed at the moment of writing.
