We’ve already learned that the upcoming Audi RS4 Avant and RS5 Coupe will use a variant of the 2.9 liter twin-turbocharged V6 currently used in the new Porsche Panamera. However, thanks to some leaked info, we’ve learned that the upcoming RS4 and RS5 will pack 450 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque. That gives both cars 10 more hp and 36 lb-ft more torque than the Panamera.
This info was leaked to Motor1 who obtained a picture from a Norwegian Audi dealership presentation. The picture showed specs of the upcoming Audi RS4 and RS5 as well as the existence of an upcoming RS5 Sportback, which will be a first for the Audi brand.
From this photo, information regarding the production dates was also revealed. If this info proves true, the Audi RS5 Coupe will go into production before the RS4 Avant, despite the Audi A4 model line going into production before the Audi A5. The reason is that the RS4 Avant is still in development while the RS5 Coupe is production ready. So the RS5 Coupe will begin production in June, 2017 while the RS4 Avant will start in December, 2017. But if the RS5 Coupe is going to begin production this June, we should see the official car before then, which is exciting news.
