Audi has released a new promotional video for the RS3 Sportback, this time tackling the Vallelunga circuit in Italy. Billed as being “the most powerful compact hatchback currently in series production”, the RS3 can be seen in the attached footage being driven on the streets of Rome before heading to the track and stretching out its “class-conquering engine”.
Fans of the iconic 5-cylinder, 2.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine will be glad to hear the motor has made a comeback in the new RS3 described by Audi as being a “world-beating car”. It offers a more than generous 367 PS and 465 Nm transferred to the company’s proprietary quattro all-wheel drive system through a 7-speed S tronic gearbox.
Thanks to this hardware arrangement, the high-powered hatchback form Ingolstadt needs just 4.3 seconds until 100 km/h and will keep on going until it reaches a top speed of 280 km/h. It’s not just the powerful engine that makes the RS3 Sportback highly desirable, as the model also adopts a more aggressive body, 19-inch rims, dual exhaust setup and a high-performance braking system.
Those who are living in United States should know Audi has confirmed the RS3 will be sold stateside but most likely it will be available as a sedan.
