It has emerged that the 2015 Audi RS3 Sportback will carry a starting price in Germany of €56,600. The range-topping A3 model premiered online only a few days ago and now someone accidentally discovered the car’s price tag on Audi’s German website where the model was listed with a €56,600 price tag before adding any extra optional equipment which will jack up the price probably beyond the €60,000 mark.
As a reminder, the Audi S3 Sportback upon which the RS3 is based is way more affordable since it starts at €40,400. Some will say the price gap is justified to some extent as the RS3 is equipped with a larger five-cylinder 2.5-liter turbo engine unleashing no less than 367 HP and a maximum torque of 465 Nm. The engine is mated to a seven-speed S tronic transmission sending all that power to Audi’s reputable quattro AWD system.
The 2015 Audi RS3 Sportback needs 4.3 seconds to cover the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint and keeps on going until it hits an electronically-capped 155 mph (250 km/h). If that’s not enough, pay Audi more and they will jack up the limiter to 174 mph (280 km/h).
Those interested in buying the car will have to wait until the first quarter of next year to place an order, with deliveries scheduled to commence sometime in the summer of 2015.
