The Audi RS3 Sportback has made its public debut this week on the occasion of the 85th Geneva Motor Show. Equipped with a “class-conquering engine”, the new “world-beating car” from Ingolstadt is scheduled to go on sale this month and it will carry a starting price in UK of £39,950. It currently doesn’t come cheap but in return for this serious chunk of money you will be getting quite possibly the most appealing hot hatchback on the market.
One of the reasons for this is due to the iconic 5-cylinder, 2.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine residing under the hood. It develops a respectable 367 HP (270 kW) and 465 Nm (342 lb-ft) of torque channeled to the quattro all-wheel drive system through a 7-speed S tronic gearbox. This hardware setup grants the Audi RS3 Sportback with a 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) sprint in just 4.3 seconds and it can hit an electronically-capped 155 mph (250 km/h). At an additional cost, Audi is willing to increase the limiter to 174 mph (280 km/h).
It has been equipped with a high-performance braking system and also benefits from a sport-tuned suspension while the Audi drive select adaptive dynamics system is also part of the package. For more money, clients can order the optional carbon ceramic breaks as well as the adaptive damper system.
Deliveries of the new Audi RS3 Sportback will kick off in the summer.
