A new image allegedly depicting the highly anticipated Audi RS3 Sedan has hit the web. The photo was posted on the Audi Deutschland page on Facebook and it was taken in Neckarsulm, Germany. At a first glance this might look like a regular S3 Sedan wearing a Sepang Blue paint scheme but upon closer inspection you can see that it has some duct tape hiding what is believed to be testing equipment.
For the first time ever, Audi could decide to offer the RS3 both as a four-door sedan and five-door hatchback with a 2.5-liter five-cylinder TFSI engine developing about 360 bhp (268 kW). Compared to its predecessor, the new RS3 will be around 55 kg lighter as a result of making the switch to the MQB platform and it will sit 25mm lower than the aforementioned S3.
The Audi RS3 Sedan and Sportback will be equipped with wider tracks and are going to come with a quattro all-wheel drive system receiving the power of the engine through a newly developed six-speed S tronic transmission. The overhauled RS3 is estimated to run the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in a little over four seconds.
A confirmation regarding the launch dates of the Audi RS3 Sedan and Sportback has not been provided yet but the models are probably on their way.
