In just a couple of days we’ll be attending the 2017 NYIAS (New York International Auto Show) and there will be a couple of American debuts for the four-ringed brand. Both the Audi RS3 Sedan and TT RS will make their North American debuts in New York this week. We’re incredibly excited to see both fantastic cars in person and bring you some live photos.
The Audi RS3 Sedan will be the first of the RS3 name to make it across the Atlantic. Its RS3 Sportback sibling was always a European-market-only car, something that created much jealousy among American enthusiasts. However, this new Sedan finally brings the badge here to the ‘States and it does so with more power than ever. While the RS3 Sportback had to make do with just 367 hp, the new RS3 Sedan makes 400 hp from an all-new version of the 2.5 liter five-cylinder engine. When paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, the Audi RS3 Sedan will be capable of 0-60 mph in just 3.9 seconds. That’s Porsche 911 territory in a sedan that starts life at $55,450.
As for the Audi TT RS, we’ve known about this car for some time. The TT RS was the first car to get the all-new 2.5 liter turbo-five and 400 hp. It, too, is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch auto and scoots from 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds (although, some people have clocked it quicker). It brings sexier looks and a more exciting design to America than the RS3 Sedan does, though. With its two-door, two-seat styling, the Audi TT RS is the far more emotional car of the two.
We’ll see both in New York on Wednesday and bring you as many pictures and as much information as we can.
