A report issued by InAutoNews says the Audi RS3 Sedan has been confirmed exclusively for United States. They are citing an unknown source within Audi who says the high-performance sedan will be sold only in United States and there aren’t any plans to launch an RS3 with a different body style.
The Audi RS3 Sedan could hit the U.S. market as soon as the 2016 model year and will obviously carry over the 5-cylinder 2.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine from the RS3 Sportback commercialized in Europe. The engine develops 367 hp and 465 Nm transferred to a quattro all-wheel drive system via a seven-speed S tronic transmission although we heard Audi USA is considering a six-speed manual gearbox.

The Euro-spec version covers the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in 4.3 seconds and tops out at an electronically-limited 155 mph (250 km/h), but Europeans can pay more to ask Audi to raise the limiter to 174 mph (280 km/h).
If the Audi RS3 Sedan (US-spec) is indeed planned for the 2016MY, an official reveal should occur in the following months.
