It is believed the Audi R3 Sedan will finally happen and apparently it’s on its way to United States. Fourtitude has managed to find out from the Audi of America employee meeting in Maryland that the high-performance compact sedan is in the works and they are taking into consideration selling with a manual gearbox which purists will certainly enjoy.
If green-lighted for production, the Audi RS3 Sedan will be powered by the same engine found inside the RS3 Sportback, a 5-cylinder 2.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with 367 PS (270 kW) and a maximum torque of 465 Nm (342 lb-ft). It will work with a seven-speed S tronic gearbox sending power to a quattro all-wheel drive system which allows the hatchback to run the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in 4.3 seconds while the sedan will probably be just as quick.
As standard, the RS3 Sportback is electronically limited to 155 mph (250 km/h), but upon request Audi is willing to raise the limiter to 174 mph (280 km/h) if you pay more.
Audi has previously announced they will kick off deliveries of the RS3 Sportback in the summer. The RS3 Sedan could hit the U.S. market as earl as the 2016 model year.
