Say what you want about SUVs, but you have to admit the Audi Q8 looks rather interesting. It’s especially true in RS form, but today we’re not talking about the stock model. Lumma Design is introducing its wild CLR 8 RS aftermarket package for Audi Sport’s range-topping SUV to widen those alluring hips by 60 millimeters (2.36 inches).
All of the aftermarket bits you’re seeing are made from carbon fiber in an effort to put the large and heavy SUV on a diet. From the air intake trim piece and spoiler lip at the front to the diffuser and roof spoiler at the back, carbon fiber has been used extensively on the outside. Lumma Design spiced things up furthermore with 23-inch wheels available in black or with a flashy gold finish, which combined with the orange body, make the RS Q8 look… unique.
While the German tuner has not released any images with the interior cabin, we do know the CLR 8 RS package encompasses custom floor mats (+ cargo mat) with Lumma’s logo. A full leather interior can be ordered as well from Lumma Design, along with an anodized aluminum pedal set and footrest.
It wouldn’t be a complete tuning program without a power boost. The twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 has been taken by Lumma Design to 705 horsepower and 910 Newton-meters (671 pound-feet) or 105 hp and 110 Nm (81 lb-ft) more than the standard RS Q8. The upgraded engine is complemented by a new exhaust system with massive quad tips finished in either black or carbon.
Customers will be able to get one from the fourth quarter of this year, but it’s not going to be cheap. Lumma Design is asking €38,000 (plus value added tax) for the body kit and wheels. That includes painting, assembly, and transport within Germany, but getting the power boost and exhaust will cost you extra.
