Audi R8 V8 owner talks about running costs

The owner of a 2008 Audi R8 V8 decided to share details about the running costs involved when owning such a supercar. You can imagine that purchasing a second hand performance car like the R8 means the future owner has to get ready to dig deep into his pockets to properly maintain and operate the vehicle, something which this owner has learned the hard way.

Six months ago Paul Wallace paid £50,000 for a second hand Audi R8 V8 and now he says that filling up the gas tank which has a capacity of 80 – 85 liters costs £110-120, a procedure which he does once a week or even twice so per month he pays approximately £500 only on fuel.

Should something go wrong with the car, expect the replacement parts to be expensive while the regular servicing (£1,100) and maintenance is far from being cheap. The Audi R8 V8 seen in this video participated in the Gumball 3000 from Edinburgh to Paris and after the trip the front brakes needed a replacement priced at £1,500. Replacing a clutch costs £2,500 without taking into account the labor costs.

Lastly, Paul Wallace installed an Armytrix exhaust system worth £5,500 on his Audi R8 V8, excluding installation costs.
