Audi R8 V10 Plus Spyder makes US Debut during Monterey Car Week

This weekend, thousands of car enthusiasts and celebrities alike will be attending the famous Monterey Car Week. At Pebble Beach, Monterey, some of the most impressive and exciting supercars and luxury cars will be on display, as manufacturers and collectors show off their cars. Many automakers use Pebble Beach as a way to debut their most expensive, prestigious and exotic cars to the world. One such car debuting this weekend will be the Audi R8 V10 Plus Spyder, which will be making its US debut.

Much like the standard Audi R8 Spyder, the Plus model will feature a power-folding soft top. Though, in “Plus” trim, it packs a 610 hp variant of the brand’s 5.2 liter naturally-aspirated V10. It also gets the same seven-speed dual-clutch automatic and Quattro all-wheel drive. Though, the Audi R8 V10 Plus Spyder will be a bit quicker than its standard counterpart, getting from 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds.

Alongside the new topless R8 will be the brand-new RS5 Coupe, R8 LMS GT3 racecar, and the iconic Audi Sport quattro S1, which is being honored for its 30th anniversary. Thirty years ago today, Walter Röhrl set a record climbing Pike’s Peak in the famous S1. That’s the sort of iconic cars we’re talking about that will be on display at The Quail.

It should be an exciting week for Audi and its fans in Monterey. If you can make it out there, it’s worth taking a look.
