The 2019 New York International Auto Show is shaping up to be a good one for Audi. Not only is the new facelift of the TT RS going to make its North American debut but the new Audi R8 V10 Decennium is going to make its worldwide debut.
If you don’t already know, the Audi R8 V10 Decennium is a very limited-production, special edition R8 designed to celebrate ten years of the V10 engine. So, much like with the R8 itself, the 5.2 liter naturally-aspirated V10 is the star of the show. That screaming V10 makes a very healthy 620 hp and 428 lb-ft of torque, which isn’t too much more than the standard car but nothing to complain about.
Only 50 of these Audi R8 V10 Decennium’s will be made and all 50 are painted Mythos Black Metallic. All of which also get 20-inch wheels, finished in a very cool matte bronze, which we like quite a bit. That matte bronze finish also extends to the intake manifolds, which are on display through the glass panel on the rear hatch. It also gets some gloss black trim pieces to make it look extra sporty.
Inside, there’s not much different about the Decennium except for a few badges and the stripe on the steering wheel’s 12-o’ clock position. There’s some copper stitching throughout the cabin, too, which is a nice touch, but nothing too extreme.
Prices for the Decennium start at $214,995, which is quite a bit of money but it’s not too much more than the Audi R8 V10 Performance’s $208,100 price tag. So the extra $6k or so is not bad, especially when you consider the extra power and its rarity as a limited-production model. The Audi R8 V10 Decennium will be available to see live at the NY Auto Show next week and we’ll be bringing you live coverage of it.
