The upcoming 2017 Audi R8 Spyder is one of the most hotly anticipated Audis on the rise. The Audi R8 Coupe is already a sensational and exciting car, but ditching the roof only adds more excitement and drama. Plus, it adds some more noise and who doesn’t want to hear more of that 5.2 liter V10?
Well, if you want to see the R8 Spyder in person, one will be making an appearance at the Audi Forum and will be there until May 14th. That’s only a few weeks, so if you want to see it, you’d better hurry. Especially if you’re a potential buyer.
We were able to take a look at the Audi R8 Spyder during its worldwide debut at the 2016 New York International Auto Show. It’s a stunning car and possibly the best looking mid-engine supercar on the market today. The Audi R8 Spyder will come with the same 5.2 liter V10 as the standard car and, much like its Coupe sibling, the Spyder will be available in both standard and “Plus” variants. The latter will come with a whopping 610 hp, which will be sent through a seven-speed S-Tronic dual-clutch gearbox to all four wheels.
In terms of performance, the Audi R8 Spyder is said to get from 0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds, which is a bit slower than the claimed 3.2 of the Coupe, thanks to the added weight. Top speed will be 197 mph, also less than the Coupe, which crests 200 mph.
So if you happen to be in the Ingolstadt area before May 14th, go check out the Audi R8 Spyder at the Audi Forum.
