Many Audi R8 owners from United Arab Emirates gathered around for a fun drift session with their beloved supercars. These people are part of the R8UAE drift club which organizes many similar exciting events where the members have the possibility to show off their high-end vehicles while having some fun at the same time. One of these members owns a virtually new (and very desirable) V10 Plus version which he brought to the slippery wet track.
Most likely many of these members are eagerly waiting for the second generation of the Audi R8 to be unveiled and it is believed the model will be shown by the end of the year, with sales to commence in the first half of 2015. From what we know so far, the new R8 will continue with the same naturally-aspirated V8 and V10 engine but most likely these will receive more power and should also be more fuel efficient.
The motors are going to send their power to the quattro AWD system through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Interestingly, Audi has already confirmed its intentions to introduce a smaller turbocharged engine later on during the car’s lifespan. It is a known fact the second generation Audi R8 will share many of its components with the Lamborghini Huracan, including the carbon fiber tunnel which should shave off some of the weight.
Additional details should be disclosed closer to the car’s online reveal.
