Two Audi R8 LMS cars have managed to finish in the top ten of this year’s Rolex 24 at Daytona endurance race. It was the 53rd edition of the event and after 24 hours the #48 car belonging to Paul Miller Racing crossed the finish line on fifth place, managing to cover 695 laps and covering 2,474 miles. Behind the wheel were Christopher Haase (Germany), Bryce Miller (USA), Dion von Moltke (USA) and Rene Rast (Germany) and at one point in the race they reached 3rd spot but a gearbox problem slowed them down and were demoted to six place but before the finish they were able to win back a position and claimed a well-deserved fifth place.
In tenth place came the Audi R8 LMS #45 of Flying Lizard Motorsport which completed 670 laps and drove 2,385 miles. The vehicle raced in the GTD class and was driven by Tomonobu Fujii (Japan), Satoshi Hoshino (Japan), Robert Thorne (USA) and Markus Winkelhock (Germany).
The next race part of the 2015 TUDOR United SportsCar Championship will be organized between March 18 and 21 at Sebring International Raceway.
