Audi Canada is introducing a limited-run R8 LM to serve as a well-deserved bon voyage for the first generation R8 supercar.

The second-gen R8 has been on sale in Europe for quite some time, but Canadians are still stuck with the old one which is now on its way to retirement with this LM special edition of which only 8 units will be produced. All of them are based on the range-topping R8 V10 Plus version but with the 570 PS engine of the R8 LMX along with extra content such as the special exterior elements and a tweaked interior cabin courtesy of Audi exclusive. In addition, the car can be visually distinguished by the individually numbered door sills as well as an illuminated and embossed “R8 LM” logo.

There’s no word about price just yet, but obviously it will be a lot more expensive than the standard Audi R8 V10 Plus which in Canada begins at 189,700 CAD for the six-speed manual version and from 201,200 CAD for the S tronic. As a consequence, expect the R8 LM to cost somewhere in the region of 240,000 CAD and chances are it will be offered only with the seven-speed S tronic as in the aforementioned R8 LMX.
