An Audi R8 featuring an arctic camo wrap has been spotted in Maastricht, Netherlands. The supercar was photographed in an underground parking lot and dare we say the cosmetic makeover is rather appropriate taking into account this is after all an all-wheel drive car which means it provides a great amount of traction regardless of terrain.
The car grabbed on camera here was the regular version equipped with a naturally aspirated V8 4.2-liter engine which produces 430 bhp at 7,900 rpm and 317 lb-ft at 4,500 rpm. It needs a mere 4.5 seconds for the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint and after all these years it still looks quite fresh, even though a second generation is just around the corner.
Speaking of which, an all-new Audi R8 will be out in 2015 and it will share many of its components with the Lamborghini Huracan. The naturally aspirated 4.2-liter V8 and 5.2-liter V10 engines will be retained but probably tweaked to deliver more power and lower fuel consumption & CO2 emissions. Later on during the car’s lifespan, a smaller turbocharged engine will be added to the range. Quattro will be standard across the R8 range while the possibility of seeing a manual transmission are slim.
