The Audi R8 Competition has been revealed online tonight, prior to a public debut at next month’s Los Angeles Auto Show. The first generation R8 is set to go out with a bang as the Ingolstadt-based automaker have introduced what they describe as being the “most powerful Audi production vehicle to-date” thanks to an uprated V10 5.2-liter naturally aspirated engine developing 570 bhp (425 kW).
The ten cylinder engine works with a 7-speed S tronic transmission and a quattro all-wheel drive system which allows the supercar to run the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) sprint in only 3.2 seconds on its way onto a top speed of 199 mph (320 km/h). It’s the “fastest R8 ever offered” and comes with numerous carbon fiber body parts including the front spoiler, mirror caps, side blades, flics, rear wing and rear diffuser.
The Audi R8 Competition rides on glossy black wheels and benefits from a sports exhaust system featuring glossy black tailpipes. Other goodies included would have to be the anodized red brake calipers matched with carbon ceramic brakes while inside the cabin there are illuminated door sill plates and a matte carbon fiber trim.
It will be offered only in United States and production will be capped at 60 units, with pre-orders kicking off in November and deliveries early 2015.
