The Xbox One-exclusive Forza 5 video game has recently added the famous Le Mans circuit to its list of tracks and they decided to ask players to submit their run with the Audi R18 e-tron quattro in the search for the perfect lap. No less than 30 gamers were selected and you can see their performances in the attached video with commentary from nine times Le Mans winner and Audi driver Tom Kristensen.
The video was created by using footage taken from those 30 best runs with the Audi R18 e-tron quattro and the fastest time achieved was actually 20 seconds slower than the real qualifying times for this year’s race, but it shouldn’t come really as a big surprise as the real drivers do hundreds of laps at Le Mans so they know basically everything there is to know about the track.
The addition of Le Mans to Forza 5 coincides with the 82nd edition of the legendary endurance race programmed to kick off on Saturday at 15:00 CEST where the Audi R18 e-tron quattro will have to face strong competition coming from cars such as the Porsche 919 Hybrid and the Toyota TS040 Hybrid.
The weekend didn’t start so good for Audi’s team as the #1 car was totally destroyed in the practice run and after being rebuilt overnight, it was damaged yet again but will be ready for the start of the race.
