We’re going to see the official worldwide debut of the upcoming Audi Q4 e-tron Sportback Concept on July 7, just a couple of days from now. Ahead of its official reveal, though, Audi has teased its upcoming electric crossover in this new video and it shows off probably more than it should.
In this short 20-second teaser, you get to see some short glimpses of the new Q4 Sportback e-tron, including its front end and its interior. Both glimpses are clear enough to get a good look at what the official concept car is going to look like.
When the Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron Concept debuts, we’ll see what Audi’s plans are for smaller, less expensive electric vehicles. At the moment, the only electric cars Audi has are big, very expensive, luxurious SUVs. Both the Audi e-tron and e-tron Sportback push $80,000, so this Q4 Sportback e-tron will offer a more affordable option for mainstream buyers.
We also get to see the headlight and taillight design of this upcoming concept in this video. Which is interesting because we’ve heard rumors that the Q4 will have customizable lighting, due to the extensive use of Audi’s Matrix OLED lighting technology. From what we can see in this short clip, the lights look very good.
However, the Concept car teased in this video looks barely different, if any different at all, from the original concept car we saw last year. So maybe that old concept was closer to production than we may have thought. That’s not actually all that surprising, though, as every e-tron concept car that Audi has shown off in the past couple of years has been close to production-ready.
Thankfully, we just have a couple of days left to see what the final concept will be like. It should be very interesting.
