After the Audi e-tron GT makes its official reveal later this year, the four-ringed brand will set its sights on released a new electric car. Like the current e-tron, this next EV will be an SUV, only smaller, sportier and more affordable — the Audi Q4 e-tron. Interestingly, according to this new report from Autocar, it will even come with personalized headlights and taillights.
This new report, while light on detail, claims that the upcoming Q4 e-tron will offer customers the ability to customize their headlights and taillights. That’s a very unique feature and one that isn’t offered on anything else on the market. We don’t know exactly what that entails but this info is said to come directly from Audi design boss Marc Lichte himself.
According to Autocar, the Audi Q4 e-tron will get 25 different options for both the headlights and taillights. If that’s true, customers are going to go wild over it. Even non-car enthusiasts love Audi’s headlight designs, so giving customers the ability to customize or personalize their headlights and even taillights is going to be a smash hit.
To be honest, we’re wondering why this hasn’t been done before. It has the potential to be obnoxious, for sure, as customers might go a bit wild with their light designs, but it also could be quite cool.
When the Audi Q4 e-tron does come out, it will be a hugely important car for the brand regardless of light customization. It will offer Audi customers a much more affordable way to get into an all-electric crossover that’s both practical and usable everyday. Adding customizable headlights will only make it more popular and could even attract non-EV customers over. So we think it’s a good idea but one with the potential to get a bit out of hand. Only time will tell.
