Audi Gifts Wheel of Fortune Contestant New Audi Q3 After Technicality Snafu

During a recent episode of Wheel of Fortune, a contestant lost out on the chance to win a brand-new Audi Q3, due to a technicality. Contestant Charlene Rubush had the chance to solve the puzzle and guess the four-word phrase. She guess it correctly, “Choosing the Right Word”, but she paused for several seconds in between the words “Right” and “Word”. Due to that pause, Rubush was denied the victory, despite solving the puzzle correctly, in the allotted ten-second time frame.

“You know, this one’s tough because you said all the right words — including the word ‘word’ — but, as you know, it’s got to be more or less continuous,” said Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak. “We’ll allow for a little pause, but not four or five seconds.”

Following the controversial technicality, Alex Jacob — former Jeopardy! All Star — tweeted at Wheel of Fortune, telling them to give her the Audi Q3 because she did, in fact, so choose the right words. While Wheel of Fortune didn’t change Rubush’s outcome, Audi of America stepped in to right the wrong.

Audi of America got word of Rubush’s loss via technicality and looked into it. After watching the episode, and seeing Rubush solve the puzzle correctly, Audi of America is now gifting Rubush a new Audi Q3.

“You’re a winner in our eyes, Charlene. Now, let’s get you a prize. Time to #GiveHerTheQ3.” said Audi of America in a tweet.

Rubush also reached out to Jacob to thank him for his support, as Audi of America would likely have never noticed this without it. She updated him to the fact that Audi is, in fact, sending her a new Q3. It’s a nice end to a story, especially around the holidays, for everyone involved. Rubush is likely thrilled that she’s getting the new Audi Q3 and Audi gets a huge PR win. Happy Holidays for all, I suppose.
