The owner of a white Audi Q3 had to literally fight with a carjacker trying to evade with the crossover. The incident took place on Ripponden road in West Yorkshire, United Kingdom and the attached footage was recorded by a CCTV installed at a nearby gym. The vehicle belongs to a 52-year-old woman by the name of Deborah Smythe who made the mistake of leaving the car door open when she got out to unlock a car park barrier.
An opportunistic thief didn’t hesitate and got inside the Audi Q3 and tried immediately to escape with the vehicle. However, the woman’s reaction was very quick and she managed to stop the thief in time. Although you will see the vehicle reversing, the woman didn’t let go and after wrestling with the man she managed to make him flee the scene of the failed theft attempt.
Inside the Audi Q3, Mrs Smythe carried €700 along with her passaport because she was planning to go on a holiday to Tenerife. She actually took the trip later the same day while the police authorities are now trying to identify the thief by looking at all the available CCTV footage. The white man is described as being 6ft 3in tall in his late 30s or early 40s.
