New details are starting to emerge about the Audi Q1 scheduled to come out in 2016. Speaking in Monaco during the A1 facelift launch, Audi executive have provided some preliminary details about their upcoming baby high-riding model that will be a young car, according to A1 range product marketing chief Lisa Heyne. As a consequence, expect the Q1 to be available with a wide array of customizations.
Chances are the Audi Q1 will ride on the same platform as the unreleased Volkswagen Tiguan while in terms of dimensions it should be pretty close to the A1 hatchback but maybe a little bit bigger. Expect the baby crossover to be offered with a familiar engine range include a three-cylinder 1.0-liter gasoline turbocharged motor as well as a 1.4-liter turbodiesel. Moreover, it will likely get the 1.4 and 1.8 four-cylinder turbo gasoline engines from the A1, along with the turbodiesel 1.6.
According to a previous report, the Audi Q1 will carry a starting price of €25,000 and is scheduled to go on sale in Europe sometime in 2016, following what will probably be a reveal towards the end of 2015. There are some chances of seeing the Q1 reach Australian market as early as the end of 2016.
