Audi has released an extensive walkaround video with the new Q7 in which they go through the styling changes both inside and out as well as through the technology features. Audi decided to take the evolutionary route when designing the second generation of its full-size SUV but somehow many people are criticizing the premium marque for making the Q7 look more like a wagon part of the company’s allroad-badged lineup.
It might take some time getting used to the exterior design while the interior cabin should be familiar to anyone who has ever been inside a recent Audi model. It gets the company’s latest MMI infotainment system with a larger touchpad while support for Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto is available. The new Q7 can be had with a Bose sound system or a more expensive 23-speaker, 1,920-watt Bang & Olufsen Advanced Audio System with 3D sound.
Underneath the skin is an entirely new car as Audi’s engineers have managed to shave off as much as 325 kg compared to its predecessor, with the lightest model now weighing 1,995 kg. It can be had with xenon, LED or matrix LED headlights and has a drag coefficient of 0.32. It’s actually 37mm shorter and 15mm narrower than its predecessor while the interior cabin is now more spacious.
Deliveries of the second generation Audi Q7 will begin this summer.
