Audi has released a handful of design sketches depicting the new R8 supercar. Deliveries of the high-performance coupe are starting as we speak and Audi has decided to share some sketches with its V10-only high-performance vehicle which will sooner or later receive a new entry-level version that will come with a turbocharged six-cylinder engine as the normally aspirated V8 4.2-liter has been axed.
There’s been a lot of debate regarding the car’s styling as many have criticized Audi for playing it too safe with the evolutionary design while other appreciated the company’s decision to make only some subtle changes which have enabled a sharper look. It is important to mention that with cars like the R8, it’s usually best to wait to see the car in the metal before forming an opinion regarding how it looks.
We’ve heard many saying they were disappointed after seeing the images online released by Audi, but enjoyed the car’s design after checking out the supercar in the flesh. The new R8 V10 Plus looks very imposing with its fixed rear wing, larger wheels and other similar upgrades while the interior cabin with the fully digital instrument cluster looks state-of-the-art, as it should for Audi’s latest and greatest supercar.
