It was about a week ago when the Audi Prologue Avant concept was unveiled and now the vehicle is making its video debut. It will be exhibited at this month’s 85th edition of the Geneva Motor Show and is believed to provide a first glimpse at a future rival for the Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake. As the name suggests, the concept is based on the Prologue concepts unveiled by Audi recently but this time it adopts the Avant body style which makes the car more practical without having a negative impact on the design.
As a reminder, the Audi Prologue Avant concept pairs a 6-cylinder 3.0-liter TDI engine with an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery pack. Thanks to this hardware setup, the vehicle can provide a respectable combined output of 455 HP (335 kW) and a massive 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of torque. The power is enough to grant the appealing concept with a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in as little as 5.1 seconds on its way to a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h) which has been electronically limited.
Perhaps even more impressive is the fact that the Audi Prologue Avant concept returns 147 mpg US (1.6 liters / 100 km) and is able to run solely on electric power for as much as 33 miles (54 km).
