Audi UK has announced the 2015 RS3 Sportback carries a starting price of £39,950. It’s a serious chunk of change but in return you do get a “class-conquering engine” and a “world-beating car” as described by the Ingolstadt-based marque. Underneath that hood resides Audi’s iconic five-cylinder 2.5-liter turbo engine which in this latest application has been massaged to develop a massive 367 HP and a maximum torque of 465 Nm.
The engine’s output is transferred via a seven-speed S tronic transmission to a quattro all-wheel drive arrangement. This hardware setup allows the 2015 RS3 Sportback run the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in 4.3 seconds and top out at an electronically-limited 155 mph (250 km/h). If this isn’t enough, Audi is willing to increase the top speed limiter to an impressive 174 mph (280 km/h).
At an additional cost, the 2015 RS3 Sportback can be equipped with optional RS bucket seats which lower the vehicle’s weight by 7 kg. Also available is MMI navigation plus with MMI touch, as well as the RS3 design package which brings red accents on the knee pads, air vents, seats, floor mats and seatbelts. The UK-spec model rides standard on 19-inch wheels and benefits from LED headlights + daytime running lights.
Audi’s UK division will start taking orders next month while deliveries are set to commence in the summer.
