Audi has published a promotional video with the recently introduced 2015 TT S Roadster. It focuses mostly on the high-tech 12.3-inch configurable digital display showing many of the advantages that it brings. Perhaps one of the most important one would have to be the fact that it’s a far less distraction to the driver as he can control the navigation, audio and just about all systems straight from the steering wheel and looking at the display without removing his vision from the road up ahead.
In this video the car showcased is the more potent S version equipped with a four-cylinder 2.0-liter TFSI turbocharged gasoline engine developing 310 HP (228 kW) & 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque. The compact roadster needs only 4.9 seconds to reach 62 mph (100 km/h) from a standstill when configured with the optional six-speed S tronic and tops out at an electronically-governed speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). Audi is also offering a standard six-speed manual transmission and both of them send the engine’s power to a quattro all-wheel drive system.
Compared to the regular version, the 2015 TT S Roadster sits 10mm lower and rides on 18-inch wheels wrapped around in 245/40 tires, with the possibility of upgrading to 19 or 20-inch rims. Stopping power is provided by new lightweight aluminum fixed-caliper brakes for the front axle and Audi has fitted the vehicle with an electromechanical parking brake as standard equipment.
