Audi joins forces with INRIX to offer online traffic services

Audi has formed a partnership with INRIX to provide online traffic services to 2015MY cars. These will be available only to the vehicles equipped with Audi connect which will take advantage of the INRIX XD Traffic service providing real-time navigation info to the driver such as routes, alerts to incidents on the road as well as details about travel times. INRIX XD Traffic is a very comprehensive service as it covers more than two million miles of road in North America, including secondary roads, ramps, highways, city roads, arterials and interchanges.

This new service complements the high level of functionality available through Audi MMI navigation and will help drivers find the closest available empty parking space and also compare rates. It also offers turn-by-turn directions to the entrances of more than 23,000 parking locations across North America.

Also available is INRIX Fuel which provides details concerning location and real-time fuel price info for 140,000+ gas stations. The system can automatically update prices per gallon by grade from payment transactions at gas stations for the most current gas price info available.

Audi and INRIX will continue to demonstrate these services at CES in Las Vegas until January 9.
