Audi is the premium partner of the Kieler Woche 2015 (June 20-28), representing the sixth time when the Ingolstadt-based automaker supports the world’s biggest sailing regatta. The involvement is quite varied as it extends from the Audi ultra Cup to live TV, as well as with traditional support of the German national sailing team along with providing trailer and shuttle services.
It should be mentioned that last year Audi performed no less than 2,200 trailer movements as well as 1,677 shuttle runs and they welcomed 1,170 guests to the Audi Lounge while 620 people participated in the Audi Sailing Experience. Moreover, the German national sailing team grabbed five gold, three silver and five bronze medals during the Olympic part of the races.
This year, the brand’s own regatta at Kieler Förde will go sailing and this time on the board will be Audi Sport legend Marco Werner, athletes Maria Höfl-Riesch, Magdalena Neuner, Elisabeth Seitz, Björn Otto, Carlos Nevado and Tobias Angerer, TV hosts Mirja du Mont and Oliver Pocher, as well as Patrick Köppchen and Benedikt Kohl from ERC Ingolstadt. All of them will be racing on identically constructed B/one boats, similar to the participants in the Audi Sailing Experience in which Audi’s guests along with professionals will race on board of the seven-meter boats.
