Audi is introducing a new entry-level variant of the TT Coupe and TT Roadster fitted with a 1.8 TFSI engine. It’s already available on order in Germany where it carries a starting price of €32,100 for the Coupe and €34,500 for the Roadster. Power comes from a four-cylinder, 1.8-liter turbocharged gasoline engine developing 180 PS (132 kW) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) which can work with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed S tronic.
In terms of performance, the coupe equipped with the manual will need 6.9 seconds to run the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint while the roadster can do it in 7.2 seconds. The coupe fitted with the optional S tronic needs 7 seconds for the journey whereas the roadster will cover the trip in 7.3 seconds. Audi says the 1.8 TFSI-equipped TT has a top speed of 147 mph (237 km/h).
Fuel consumption stands at 7 – 7.6 liters / 100 km for the coupe which emits 129 – 138 g/km while the roadster consumes 7.1 – 7.7 liters / 100 km, with corresponding CO2 emissions of 132 – 142 g/km.
Audi says they will commence deliveries of the TT 1.8 TFSI Coupe and Roadster in the second half of 2015.
