While everyone is focused on Pebble Beach, and the recent reveal of the Audi PB18 e-tron, as they should be, Audi is also teasing another electric car for the future, possibly an even more important one — the Audi e-tron. The e-tron will be the brand’s first ever all-electric car, also making it the car to really launch the e-tron sub-brand, making it hugely important for Audi. So despite the Pebble Beach excitement, this new teaser deserves some attention.
In this new teaser video posted to Twitter, we see the Audi e-tron getting ready to do some winter driving. Winter testing is important for electric cars, as batteries lose a bit of range in extremely cold, harsh climates. We recently saw Audi doing some testing near the Northern Lights, in unbelievably cold weather, so this isn’t the e-tron’s first cold-weather rodeo.
Excellent energy storage for a range that exceeds more than 400 kilometers (WLTP). For more information about the #Audi #etron prototype, visit https://t.co/SxJUvtkBEv #ReadyForElectric pic.twitter.com/R3InHrsN8y

Now, the teaser really isn’t all that illuminating, as it just shows a couple of brief clips of some of the e-tron’s details. They’re also too close to really get any new styling information that we don’t already have. What is interesting, though, is that the Audi e-tron in this teaser lacks the orange and black digital camo that every other e-tron test mule we’ve seen has had. So that might hint at it being ready for launch.
This teaser is really just to amp up enthusiasm surrounding the new Audi e-tron. To be honest, though, it doesn’t really need any more enthusiasm. As enthusiasts, we’re pretty excited for what the e-tron holds and can’t wait until its September 17 reveal. The Audi PB18 e-tron is awesome but this e-tron SUV is the car that really matters to Audi right now.
