Quattro Daily reader Tobias Hornof has decided to share with us his vision of the production-ready Q6 based on the recently introduced Audi e-tron quattro concept currently on display at IAA in Frankfurt.
All cars lose some of the excitement when making the transition from concept to a production version and this will obviously happen with the Q6 due to come out in 2018. It’s being previewed at the ongoing Frankfurt Motor Show and now Tobias has decided to tone down the concept to make it more suitable for the production vehicle which will be Audi’s second pure electric vehicle after the R8 e-tron set to go on sale in the near future.
We are eager to find out how the real deal will look like and if it will be close to this speculative render that does indeed bring a breath of fresh air among the current crop of Q-badged crossovers from Ingolstadt. The premium marque has been accused for making the cars look very much alike, but the Q6 will stand out among the others with a new take on the exterior styling thanks to Marc Lichte who is now the man with the responsibility of drawing all new Audis, with the first production model to feature the new look being the next-gen A8 due towards the end of next year or early 2017.
