After making its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the e-tron quattro concept is currently on display at Audi Forum Neckarsulm.
It certainly stands out among the current crop of crossovers, but unfortunately this is only a concept for now. It will morph into a production car that will bear the “Q6” moniker and hopefully the design won’t be modified a lot as the concept looks stunning and would make a big splash in this segment. The first ever Q6 is slated to come out at the beginning of 2018 and will be able to provide a maximum range of more than 500 km (311 miles).
It’s not known at this point what will power the production-ready car, but most likely it will be an adaptation of the concept’s trio electric motor arrangement with a combined output of 503 PS and more than 800 Nm, enough electric muscle for a 0-100 km/h run in 4.6 seconds and an electrically-governed top speed of 210 km/h.
Chances are the Q6 will have a lot in common with the forthcoming R8 e-tron production version all wrapped around in a body which will be one of the most aerodynamically efficient in this segment taking into account the concept has a drag coefficient of only 0.25.
We won’t be too surprised if Audi will prepare a more near-production concept in the years to come to build up hype until the Q6’s market debut.
