To celebrate the reveal of the upcoming Audi A5 Coupe, the Igolstadt-based brand will be hosting a light show, dubbed “Audi Late Light Show” at its Audi Forum building that will include dynamic image sequences, colors and music. The light show is said to be a celebration of the Audi A5 Coupe, as well as thanking the Audi employees and Ingolstadt citizens and to show off the Igolstadt pride, as the new A5 was designed there and will be built there.
“This art experience is a thank-you to the Audi employees and the people of Ingolstadt. In Ingolstadt, we have developed the new Audi A5 Coupe, we produce it here, and we will present it here as a new design icon to the world press for the first time on June 2,” stated Toni Melfi, Head of Communications at AUDI AG.
The light show will be done by a group of artists called Maxin10sity and it will consist of 55 video projectors, each with the intensity of 40,000 ANSI lumens. “The prizewinning team of Maxin10sity applies the most advanced technology: computer-generated images and sounds create a new visual reality; technology and art merge into one. In this way, the artistic side of the ‘Audi Late Light Show’ provides a spectacular reflection of the technology company Audi.” said the former Director General of the Bavarian State Painting Collections, Prof. Dr. Klaus Schrenk, a renowned art historian and artistic advisor of AUDI AG.
The Audi Late Light Show will go on for six consecutive nights leading up to the Audi A5 reveal, starting March 25. The Audi A5 Coupe will make its worldwide debut, to both the public and the press, on June 2. The opening show on Wednesday, March 25, will be accompanies by a “Summer Sounds” after-work event, which will include a Munich-based DJ that will play electronic music to set the mood and create a relaxing atmosphere. On the two following days, there will be film clips that give insight to the upcoming international short film festival, called “20min|max.” On March 29, the Audi Owners Club will present classic and collectible Audi vehicles for guests to gawk over. All guests will be able to dine at food trucks or at the Audi Forum each night of the Light Show.
Another event, that will run parallel with the Audi Late Light Show, that has already started will be the “Dynamic Sculptures – The Tradition of Sportiness and Elegance at Audi”, held at the Audi Museum. This event will highlight twelve historic Audi coupes, to provide context to the soon-to-be-revealed Audi A5 Coupe. This event already started May 3, but will continue on through the Light Show and Audi A5 reveal.
