Audi briefly details new MMI system inside 2015 Q7

Audi has released a new video with the 2015 Q7, this time providing a quick glimpse at the newly developed MMI system. This new clip comes shortly after videos displaying the exterior styling, the tablet inside the cabin, the 3D sound systems as well as the smartphone interface. This new video shows off the revised MMI “all-in-touch control unit” featuring a bigger touchpad which “makes operation child’s play.”

One of the cool features is represented by the possibility of adjusting the Q7’s interior LED ambient lighting through the MMI system which promises to be significantly more innovative by providing most of the functions in only a few steps. It also boasts intelligent suggestions to ease the process of searching song titles and to input telephone contacts and navigation destinations.

Just like before, the display appears on the central MMI monitor which rises up from the car’s instrument panel when the system is turned on and it can also be used by the front passenger. The biggest change is the MMI control unit with a bigger full touch surface and each input will be followed by an acoustic and a haptic information.

It should be mentioned the 2015 Q7 comes with a standard 7-inch MMI monitor while the optional MMI navigation plus packs a larger 8.3-inch display, with both of them being powered by an Nvidia Tegra 30 graphics processor.
