Audi Australia has announced a series of updates for the A3 and S3 range applicable starting 2015MY. The base engine, a four-cylinder 1.4-liter TFSI, has received a minor power bump from 122 HP (90 kW) to 125 HP (92 kW) while the fuel consumption on average has decreased from 5.0 to 4.9 liters / 100 km.
Audi has also upgraded the A3 1.6 TDI from 105 HP (77 kW) to 110 HP (81 kW). There’s also an update for the 1.4 TFSI engine equipped with cylinder-on-demand (COD) tech which now delivers 150 HP (110 kW), up from 140 HP (103 kW). For the 2015 model year, output of the 2.0 TFSI engine inside the S3 has been increased from 280 HP (206 kW) to 285 HP (210 kW).
These power increases come at a cost as Audi Australia has jacked up the price of the A3 and S3 models. All A3 models are now $300 more expensive, with the exception of the 2.0 TDI Sportback that now costs an extra $400 while the 1.6 TDI Sportback continues to cost $36,900. As for the S3 models, the prices have increased by a significant $1,200, with the most expensive version being the S3 Cabriolet priced at $70,500.
