Audi and RAC release new details about their Guinness World Record attempt

Following last month’s preview, Audi and RAC have now provided more details about their upcoming Guinness World Record attempt. They want to establish a new record for travelling to the most countries on a single tank of gas and will use an A6 2.0 TDI ultra driven by journalist Andrew Frankel and racing driver / TV presenter Rebecca Jackson. The adventure begins today in Maastricht in the Netherlands and will continue in Belgium, Luxemburg, France, Switzerland, Lichtenstein, Austria, Germany, Italy and will come to an end in the Balkans.

The aforementioned Audi A6 2.0 TDI ultra is completely standard as it hasn’t gone through any modifications before the journey. It uses a four-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine with 190 PS (139 kW) which enables the mid-size model to return more than 69 mpg UK and have CO2 emissions of just 109 g/km.

It comes equipped with a large 73-liter diesel tank so it is an ideal car for long journeys, with Audi and RAC saying it can cover more than 1,000 miles on a single tank of fuel that costs only £88 (€123).
