Audi has launched a new ad for the RS3 Sportback entitled “Born Restless” which shows the hyper hatch is about ready to be unleashed. In these past few days, the Volkswagen-owned premium marque has launched several ads for its high-powered compact five-door hatchback which is being described as a “world-beating car” equipped with a “class-conquering engine” which takes the shape of a turbocharged 2.5-liter 5-cylinder pushing out 367 PS (270 kW) and 465 Nm (342 lb-ft).
While Europe gets the RS3 Sportback as a five-door hatch, it is believed United States will receive an RS3 Sedan later this year when the model will be introduced as a 2016MY with the same engine. Just like its European sibling, it will come with a standard quattro all-wheel drive system and a 7-speed S tronic transmission although there are some reports pointing out Audi of America is analyzing the prospects of bringing a manual gearbox.
We remind you the RS3 Sportback sprints to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.3 seconds and tops out at 155 mph (or 174 mph upon request) so expect the US-spec RS3 Sedan to have roughly the same performances. There’s no word right now about the sedan’s price, but we remind you the hatchback starts at €52,700 at home in Germany.
