Independent artist Theophilus Chin has digitally imagined the rumored Audi A9 concept with design cues from the 2015 Aston Martin Lagonda. Looking very sleek and elegant, the long four-door coupe has what it takes to sit on top of Audi’s range and surely not many would mind if the real product would look a lot like this but we all know it won’t happen.
The Audi A9 will reportedly be shown as a preview concept in November at the Los Angeles Auto Show while the production model is planned for a 2017 market launch. The concept should ride on the MLB platform and will pave the way for a new styling approach from Ingolstadt featuring a “highly technical look”.
It will allegedly have an aluminum body, laser headlights and a reworked single frame front grille while the production version is going to be offered with a rich array of engines, including a 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo. Interestingly, there are also talks of an Audi S9 with a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo unleashing no less than 600 bhp (447 kW). We won’t be too surprised if there’s also going to be a plug-in hybrid derivate but probably not right away so it could come out sometime in 2018.
