The Audi A8 Sport has officially been introduced in United Kingdom as a replacement for the A8 Sport Executive. This new version is based on the short wheelbase A8 and comes nicely equipped with sportier side skirts, 19-inch alloy wheels, matrix beam LED headlights along with revised front and rear fascias which resemble the range-topping S8 model.
Audi has not released any images of the interior cabin, but they do say the model has HDD-based GPS navigation, double glazing, Valcona leather upholstery as well as a Bose sound system with 600-watt of power and a MMI Touch infotainment system.
In terms of engines, the Audi A8 Sport will be commercialized with a TDI V6 3.0-liter engine developing 262 PS (192 kW). If that’s not enough, buyers can also opt for a larger TDI V8 4.2-liter motor which generates 385 PS (283 kW) and a massive torque of 850 Nm (626 lb-ft). When fitted with the latter power unit, the full-size sedan completes the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in 4.7 seconds while fuel economy stands at a respectable 39.2 mpg UK (7.2 liters / 100 km), with corresponding CO2 emissions of 189 g/km (reduced from 194 g/km).
