UK Pricing for the Audi A8 Facelift Revealed — £74,985 to Start

Audi recently revealed the facelifted version of its current A8 sedan and few cars have needed a facelift more. The pre-facelift car was struggling at best to keep up with the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, as that car’s looks, interior, and luxury made it almost unbeatable in the segment, especially for a car with so-so looks. Now that it’s been facelifted, the Audi A8 looks far better than before and brings a much needed injection of style.

For UK-based customers, Audi just released pricing for the newly facelifted A8 and it will start at £74,985. For that price, you get the entry-level Audi A8 50 TDI in its Sport trim, which packs a 282 horsepower six-cylinder diesel engine. If you want to bump up to a spicier six-cylinder gasoline engine, you can get the Audi A8 55 TFSI, which packs the same 335 horsepower 3.0 liter turbocharged V6 as the pre-facelift car and costs £77,06.

There’s also going to be a plug-in hybrid model, the Audi A8 60 TFSI e, which combines the aforementioned gasoline V6 and an electric motor to make 456 horsepower. Pricing for the hybrid hasn’t been released just yet.

However, if you want big power, there’s the monster Audi S8, which uses a 4.0 liter twin-turbo V8 to make 563 horsepower. Though, that power isn’t cheap, as the S8 is easily the most expensive A8 model, starting at £102,610.

This new Audi A8 facelift looks great. It’s finally a stylish and attractive sedan that will gain attention in the segment. However, it might be too little too late, as the all-new Mercedes-Benz S-Class is now here and there’s even an all-electric version, the EQS, which will attract a ton of traditional luxury car customers. There’s also the new Lucid Air and the Tesla Model S Plaid. Can Audi’s facelifted A8 really make a dent in this segment, now that so many newer competitors are out? Only time will tell but one thing’s for certain — it wouldn’t even be possible without the facelift.
